Track Name: Katz Cradle
Track Length: 3:00
Description: This track was originally composed as an elegy for Fred Katz, who wrote film soundtrack scores for several Roger Corman films in the 1950s and 1960s. For those who have never heard of Corman: he produced and directed sci-fi and horror films with titles like "Night of The Blood Beast" and "The Wasp Woman" (just to give you some examples). However, after much application of effects and processing, the mixdown of this composition has ended up sounding a lot more like industrial electronica than retro horror b-movie fare - perhaps more like a subtle soundscape than was originally intented... Composed by Steve Lowther. {melancholy, neoclassical, motion}
Description: Rhythmic pulse of accelerated living in the 21st century. Steady clockwork drum machine provides a backdrop for synthetic melodic patterns weaving around programmed avenues and thoroughfares, like the patterns of circuit boards which became race tracks in the movie "Tron". Everyone complains that the pace of life is getting faster and faster - but at what speed do all the individual details just become a blur? Composed by Steve Lowther. {electronica, techno, Synthesizer, tension, themes, soundscape, motion, neoclassical, sci-fi}
Description: This peppy track uses futuristic analog synthesizer sounds of the past to suggest video scenes of the inventions and contraptions supposedly providing time saving benefits giving rise to more leisure time and luxury. Somewhat whimsical and nostalgic, this piece might suit as background music for a kind of "Jetsons" take on what past generations imagined the future might be like... Composed by C.P.Bryan. {Synthesizer, cartoon, whimsical, techno, electronica, happiness, dancefloor, peppy, business, DJ_Decks, themes, sci-fi}
Description: This bleak dirge arises out of two motivations. On the dramatic side: this is the outlet of a dark brooding about the idea of evil entities which are called forth by mathematics and digital technology - an unsettling idea which can be blamed wholly on sci-fi author Charles Stross and his "Laundry Files" series. The second motivation was to create something in the spirit of Factory Records circa 1980 (Joy Division etc.) so you could say I was simultaneously trying to trans-channel the spirit of Martin Hannett while exercising the demons of Charles Stross. Composed by C.P.Bryan. {fear, tension, alienation, suspense, industrial, ambient, soundscape, horror, dark}
Description: Space age music for cutesy ballerina automatons on the wild frontier of the outermost reaches of the galaxy. Composed by Lowther_and_Bryan. {sci-fi, relaxing, mellow, electronica, neoclassical, sentimental, business, calm}
